Introducing Nick H. Gabriel, D.O., FACOS
Leading Southhampton Baratric Surgeon Dr. Nick Gabriel specializes in all aspects of weight loss surgery including gastric bypass, lap band surgery and Gastric Plication. In fact, he was the first surgeon in the Northwest to perform Gastric Plication and was one of the first bariatric surgeons to perform the lap band procedure in Brooklyn and Long Island. Dr. Gabriel also specializes in minimally invasive abdominal surgery, such as gall bladder, appendix, colon and intestinal resections, hernia repair and solid organ surgery for spleen, adrenal and kidney. He was the first surgeon in Suffolk County to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS™), a relative “scar-less” procedure. Additionally, while at Yale University, Dr. Gabriel trained in robotic surgery and is now the first to perform surgical procedures with the DaVinci robot at St. Catherine of Siena.
Dr. Gabriel and his New York Weight Loss Management programs have been featured in local and national media outlets, most notably CNN and the Discovery Health Network. His his expertise and leadership led to his appointment as past Director of Bariatric Surgery, current Co-Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and current Co-Director of the DaVinci Robotic Programs at at St. Catherine of Siena. He also currently Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Gabriel completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine and his general surgery residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
