Alcohol and Drug Treatment

Alcohol and drug rehabilitation offers recovery for an enhancement that may transform your life and those you love in more ways than one. From retreats for family members and those addicted, to day programs, outpatient short term programs, in- patient four to six week programs, longer term group homes, there are many choices to consider when electing an a alcohol and drug treatment center. The good news is that every individual affected by alcoholism or drug addiction has a choice.

Selecting Your Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center

There are a variety of treatment programs to select from. Each treatment program is unique and may be tailored to very specific needs.  The most comprehensive programs offer a wide variety of amenities which may include family members, as well as, those addicted to alcohol and drugs. These amenities may include, but not be limited to: medically managed detoxification, dual diagnosis evaluation, mental illness treatment for those with dual diagnosis, recovery from traumatic events, such as, sexual abuse, traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders,  group support, individual counseling, and healthy living  strategies that may involve diet, exercise, biofeedback, yoga, and much more.

Setting Reasonable Expectations

It is widely known that it requires at least 30 days to make a lifestyle change. If you are addicted to alcohol or drugs or affected by a person who is, there may be more than one change you’ll need to make over time and each may take time and patience. Yet, if you look at your typical day and compare it to a typical day in a retreat from alcohol and/or drugs, you may be surprised to learn that the right retreat program offers the opportunity for a higher quality lifestyle during the rest of your lifetime.  The best part is you are not alone and there’s a tremendous support system available through Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Alonon and more. Whether you have a busy schedule and feel you can’t break way or not, there is a wealth of options available to fit into your current lifestyle and checkbook.

Managing Treatment Costs

There is no cost associated with attending Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Alonon and many other types of support groups. Treatment center costs may range from a few thousand dollars for short term programs and up to $30,000 or more for four to six week programs. Longer term programs may be comparable in costs.

Medical Insurance coverage for treatment centers varies. Generally speaking, there is coverage available for alcohol and drug rehabilitation, as well as, mental illness.  A select number of treatments centers are preferred providers and participate in network with insurance companies, such as, BlueCross/BlueShield and Aetna.

Treatment centers also have finance managers who work with families to develop a reasonable payment plan. A select number of treatment centers will reach out to insurance companies that are not absorbing treatment center costs in order to negotiate insurance coverage for treatment costs. A select number of treatment centers have grant programs and outreach programs to help assist in meeting your goals.
