Joseph C. Maroon, M.D., is a well recognized as a premiere neurosurgeon, professor, researcher and author. He is also well known in professional sports circles for his creation and development (along with Mark Lovell, Ph.D.) for the first computerized system that evaluates the severity of concussions called ImPACT© (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing).
