Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care dates back to the 1800’s and relates to the care of the structure and function of the spine, along with its effects on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. One core philosophy shared among Chiropractors is that the functionality of the spine, musculoskeletal and nervous systems all play a role in general health. Select members of the Chiropractic community are making strides in research to support hypothesis efficacy in Chiropractic care for select conditions. For example, The NUCCA Association has a separate research organization that is committed to learning more about the influence of Chiropractic care and advancements in Chiropractic care. Though Chiropractic care may not be a recognized medical specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties, many have turned to Chiropractors as an alternative approach for generalized back pain, neck pain or for an orthopedic injury follow up. Select people have relied on Chiropractic care as a last resort to avoid surgery or after failure to respond to traditional treatments for a variety of ailments, such as, migraine headaches.
The Availability of Quality Chiropractic Care
The availability of quality chiropractic care depends upon numerous factors, including, but not limited to: the type of condition you have; the chiropractor’s type and level of education and training; the number of times the Chiropractor has performed the technique proposed for you; the chiropractor’s personal philosophies and techniques that he or she has chosen to focus on in his or her practice; and your geographic area. U.S. State laws vary in terms of the extent of services that Chiropractors are permitted to offer. These services may or may not include and may not be limited to: X-Rays tests; laboratory tests; spinal adjustments; physical therapy; energy treatments; dietary supplements, enzyme therapy and other holistic remedies; acupuncture; chronic pain management therapies, and NUCCA.

Insurance for Chiropractic Services
Insurance coverage for Chiropractic services varies among carriers. If you have been involved in a car accident or have a worker’s compensation claim, your claims may be submitted to the appropriate carrier to seek out payment for the cost of services. In these cases, you may want to contact an attorney before proceeding with services. Generally speaking, many chiropractors are willing to work out financial arrangements to cover all or a portion of services.
